The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has released some manual handling guidance in relation to the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992. This is of particular importance, as incorrect manual handling practices are the most common cause of injury in the workplace, can cause musculoskeletal diseases, and is a common task within the construction industry.

The regulations and guidance are to make employers aware of what they should be doing to protect employees from risk of injury, and it is useful for employees to be aware of as well.
