Master Mover SM100+

The MasterMover is an electric tugging machine. The device was procured from the market and its attachment has been specifically designed and tested to fit the frame of the Portable Utility Cupboards (PUC’s). Familiarisation training has been delivered by supply chain to all PME operatives handling these units.

The attachment was made specifically to move the portable utility cupboard on the Battersea Phase 3A Site and now can be used on other site that have this need. This would be helpful across the industry and would help reduce the need for manual handling.

The PUC units measures approx. 2m H x 600 W x 600 D and is made up of a metal frame with MDF conti-boards lining the inside plus the internal electric board units all weighing approximately 220 Kg.

Benefits:

  • Reduction in tail-lift delivery accidents
  • Safe movement of heavy & awkward loads down slopes, across uneven or broken surfaces
  • Productivity gains when moving empty nested cages
  • Reduce heavy load handling related injuries, sickness and compensation claims
  • Reduces employee fatigue

They have introduced this mechanical help to further reduce risks to lower back such as pulled muscles, slipped discs, trapped nerves and other WRULDs as a result of pulling and pushing heavy & awkward loads which are part of Manual Handling.
