Permanent Edge Protection

Working at heights is one of the highest risk activities on construction sites.

In keeping with the Code of Considerate Practice, safety is paramount on all Midgard sites and our ‘Plan Safe, Work Safe’ approach has enabled us to come up with a safe system for working at heights, which was implemented at our site in East Croydon.

Instead of using combi-safe temporary edge protection, the balconies which were specified in the design stage were installed as a permanent form of edge protection, as soon as the concrete slab was poured and the pre-cast columns installed.

This improved the health and safety of our operatives working at heights as a permanent edge protection solution was in place from the early stage and for the duration of the project.
