PPE Hygiene

With the ongoing risks surrounding coronavirus, all efforts have been made to ensure that hygiene levels are maintained as the lockdown has started to ease. Although we have introduced new hand washing and welfare facilities on site for staff to use, we are also now encouraging the staff to sanitise PPE such as gloves and helmets.

While hand washing is critical at this time, staff wear gloves all day while working so we found it to be just as critical for them to ensure that they had the means of keeping their PPE clean. Along with various general hand sanitiser pumps on site, we have placed a higher grade of disinfectant in the changing areas for staff to make use of.

We hope that this will maintain the high level of hygiene standard there is on site by ensuring that touch points can be kept clean and free of bacteria spread.

This example of best practice is just one way that projects can work to tackle the virus and reduce the spread. For full guidance and the latest Government advice read the Construction Leadership Council’s Site Operating Procedures.
