QR Code on Products

We initially set this QR Code system up as a pilot scheme for our contract with Nottingham City Homes. Every product that we produce has a CE Declaration of Performance certificate, conscious of the amount of paper this would generate, we decided to utilise technology and combine this with our own bespoke database to produce a unique QR Code for every individual product that we produce.

The code is printed on to a small label that is printed off at the point of the hardware being fitted to the opening sash and inserted into the hinge side. The code can then be scanned by anyone with a smartphone with a QR Reader app downloaded. Once scanned, you are taken to a homepage that shows the required DOP Certificate relating to that window or door. By using additional tabs across the top of the screen, you can access all of the information relating to that product including ironmongery, glass sizes, pattern, make-up, profile used, frame sizes etc.

By utilising this app, it seriously reduces our carbon footprint due to negating the need to send service engineers to site to measure up for any replacement glass or hardware. By scrolling across the tabs further, you can access any other relevant certificates such as our ‘Secure by Design’ licence. It is our intention to add our Considerate Constructors Scheme ‘Performance Beyond Compliance’ certificate to the products supplied to Nottingham City Homes from 1 April 2019.
