Local Community Investment Charity CiC Forth Valley Community Focus (FVCF) have been installed on Balfour Beatty’s Forth Valley College site to deliver the on-site catering for our workforce.

The unit is staffed by members of the local community who have been trained by FVCF and put through a ‘catering academy’ where they gain industry specific qualifications and employability training, supported by Balfour Beatty.

All profits from the operation go back into the community as FVCF are a not-for-profit organisation.

The catering initiative will see at least six local people be given employment and training, and all profits from the catering will be reinvested into supporting local jobs, training and support for the most disadvantaged members of the community, which will have a lasting impact for Falkirk. The caterers use local suppliers and fresh butcher meat to ensure a quality provision of food for our site workers.

Balfour Beatty aim to replicate this Social Enterprise model across our sites, to provide additional training, employment and economic benefits for the communities in which we operate.
