Steel Frame Systems Helping Hand Safety Clips

In multi-storey framed construction, it is now common practice to use light steel infill walls to create a rapid dry envelope to support the external cladding. The same form of construction may be used as separating or compartment walls between different parts of the building. The use of light steel infill walls may be applied to steel or concrete framed construction. Lightweight, speed and ease of installation are important benefits that have led to the rapid increase in use of this form of construction.

Whilst speeding up the construction process, there has been several incidents (reported and unreported) where the external sheathing board has fallen during the installation process.

Having recently been involved in such an investigation where a board fell 5 stores, we quickly realised that something needed to be done.

Given the possible severity of the issue, we quickly carried out a full detailed review and developed both the clip SFS Safety Clip System and Working Method which we are currently looking to implement in full on our site.

The Facade Project Manager currently has Intellectual Property on the design along with a supplier which has manufacture and supplier clips for further demonstrations and us on site.
