Temporary Weatherproofing

Excelsior, Castlefield is an extremely tight plot with a tight programme, and to minimise disruption, scaffolding and intrusion beyond the site boundaries, GMI have decided to utilise a finished pre-cast facade.

This, however, has brought its own problem in that as a result, the precast install is moved further into the programme, after the frame is complete.

Traditionally it would be inadvisable to start the fit out until a weather-tight stage is achieved.

To achieve weather-tight conditions prior to commencing the facade, GMI have sought out Rhino shrink wrap to install temporary weather screens to the building – some of which printed with the client and GMI’s company logos. Thus allowing an earlier start to the fit out and clearing up the image of the site.
