Maintaining a correct pressure is vital for both safety and economic reasons on site. It may seem a simple task, but it can cause very serious injury if the tyre is damaged or is not inflated to the correct pressure. The tyre can explode, or the vehicle may collapse, resulting in death or injury.
On our Bishop Chavasse site, Galliford Try have adopted a new safety feature, easy to use dust caps with built-in pressure indicators that change colour with a drop in pressure to provide a visual alert to the operators and the site management team.
The pressure monitor automatically calibrates to the pressure in your tyres, and informs you when the pressure decreases. The cap will display a solid green indicator. As the pressure decreases, the green indicator retracts and the red indicator becomes visible, warning you of pressure loss.
