During the Finsbury Tower construction process, the construction team implemented a WINT water intelligence system. WINT detects and stops leaks at the source using Artificial Intelligence. It alerts you when water is leaking and can automatically shuts off water flow. Intelligent real-time monitoring identifies sources of leaks and waste, reducing water consumption and preventing damage.

As water is an increasingly scarce resource, reducing water use and wastage is key to constructing sustainably. Using the WINT system can help organisations reduce their water use by up to 25% and reduces water damage and waste as a result of water leaks.

Offsite support analyses the data and flags abnormal usage by getting in contact with the site team. These alerts mean the construction team can act to investigate unusual flows and resolve the issue, reducing the possible water damage from undetected leaks. Alongside the monthly reports, the alerts provide an awareness of where water is used during the different phases of construction.

A key benefit for the site team was the ability to control the water valves via the mobile app, allowing remote monitoring and valve isolation in the event of a leak.

Installing WINT has helped to reduce the water use and cost on site. Where before the water would need to be manually turned off at the end of each day, now this can be done from the app, ensuring that no more water is used than needed. Action policies for leak alerts and for water shut-off can be defined by the construction team to be aligned with specific requirements on the project.
