Healthy Snack Provision

At NGN we believe its one thing to put up colourful signage and health messages that illustrate the benefits of healthy eating and snacking on the right foods.

However behaviourally posters and signage do very little to change peoples hearts and minds to try something new.

So to take healthy eating awareness to the next level we ensure healthy snacks are provided on site – free of charge for all direct labourer, contracting workers and visitors to our sites.

The behavioural change was evident for all to see. The guys stopped buying crisps and high in saturated fat snacks and began to use the dispenser bar. So much so that it did run out quickly and rather than our workers reverting back to old habits they actually complained that the provision should be uninterrupted… fair play to them! They never looked back since.

One worker actually told me that he’d consciously stopped eating crisps during the week and saw them as a treat at weekends rather than part of his normal diet on a daily basis… result!
