Biogenic Binder in Microsurfacing

With their partners at Hertfordshire County Council, this contractor has introduced a new biogenic binder for their Microsurfacing works.

This is made using tree-based materials that lock in carbon, not emit it and has resulted in a 30% reduction in carbon footprint with no compromise on performance.

This small change has built the same road with smarter materials which has made a big environmental impact on their aim towards a lower-carbon network by 2040.
