Bowel Health Test

This project offered construction workers a Faecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) to support early detection of bowel health issues. The FIT test is a simple, non-invasive screening tool that checks stool samples for hidden blood, which can be an early indicator of bowel cancer or other conditions such as Polyps.

By providing access to this test on-site, the initiative promotes early diagnosis, encourages workers to engage proactively with their health, and supports improved long-term wellbeing across the workforce.

Offering FIT bowel health tests on construction sites brings proactive healthcare directly to workers who may otherwise delay or avoid screening. Construction workers are statistically less likely to engage in routine health checks, so providing an accessible, on-site test helps overcome barriers such as time constraints and stigma.

Early detection of bowel cancer or related conditions significantly improves outcomes, reduces treatment costs, and demonstrates a contractors commitment to workforce wellbeing
