Custom Laceless Construction Safety Boots

BMJV has developed two new custom construction safety boots for general ground workers (high ankle) and plant operators (low ankle), which aim to significantly reducing ankle-related injuries.

The boots require no laces and instead use a BOA ratchet system (often found on snowboarding equipment), which provides ankle support while removing the reliance of personnel correctly tying traditional laces.

They are lightweight, with a 100% non-metallic fibreglass protective toecap design, and a composite anti-penetration flex-mid sole. They also have a waterproof and breathable boot membrane, which was tested for 100 hours (74 times longer than EN requirement).

After 12 months of development and trials, the boots are now being rolled out to the M27 Junctions 4 to 11 Smart Motorways Scheme team.
