Custom Made Lifting Frame for Retro Fitting Unitised Facade Elements

The standard approach for installing prefabricated façade units involves lifting them from the bottom up (on a floor by floor basis) using specialised equipment.

However, the unique circumstances on one of the projects necessitated a deviation from this standard practice. Due to logistical constraints on the ground level, the main contractor required flexibility in managing the workflow.

To accommodate this, they implemented a strategy where the ground floor units were installed last, after the completion of the upper floors.

Recognising that conventional lifting methods would not be suitable for this scenario, they embarked on developing a tailored solution, which was a custom-built lifting frame that enabled them to safely and efficiently retrofit the units.
