We work closely with the Metropolitan Police and their Exchanging Places cycle safety programme. Due to our great working relationship, the Met Police Cycle Safety Team asked for our assistance with a trial of their new virtual reality Exchanging Places program and we were happy to help.

The trial consisted of a short presentation and a 3D video delivered in VR with an opportunity to ask any traffic related questions. Two sessions were held with attendees from the Multiplex team, all subcontractors including traffic marshals, members of Camden Cyclists (London Cycling Campaign), officers from Camden Council and local residents and neighbours.

The trials were enthusiastically received and everyone found the VR headsets easy to use, the information relevant and the method of delivery interesting.

Some thought there was still room for the Exchanging Places events with the chance to sit in the driver’s seat of a HGV however all agreed this alternative was great for those that are unable to attend the events or hard to reach groups.

The Metropolitan Police were pleased with the feedback and Multiplex were able to help strengthen relationships with the Council and local community interest groups.
