Dry January

Dry January is an annual campaign organised by Alcohol Concern that runs the full length of January.

The campaign encourages adopting a completely alcohol free lifestyle for a total 31 days with the aim to raise awareness of alcohol consumption and healthy living.

Those who have taken part in previous years have reported a noticeable change in health including:

  • Weight loss
  • Better sleeping patterns
  • More energy
  • Clearer skin
  • Financial savings

The idea is to promote a healthier month for the participant’s year and to further encourage those to cut down on alcohol consumption all year round and rethink this aspect of their lifestyles, especially after recognising the benefits.

Organisations and companies around the country contribute by hosting their own fundraisers, competitions and awareness campaigns in association with Dry January such as Cancer Research UK’s Dryathlon.

You could encourage members of the workforce to take part on a site or company-wide scale.
