Dust is a constant issue on construction sites, and one that must be minimised to reduce impact on residents and reduce health risks to operatives.

See the examples below for how one site addressed this:

  • Adapted a vehicle and developed a ‘Dust Suppression Unit’ in partnership with their small road cleaning company.
  • The vehicle pumps a large volume of water all the way across a road for excellent cleaning.
  • It can also have a hose pipe attached to it for watering plants and landscaping and for many other uses.
  • The three tonne flat back vehicle uses double bowsers and a pump, which could be filled with collected rainwater.

This initiative ensures quick and thorough cleaning of roads, reducing the impact of dust on site.
