This app has been developed by the project to enhance the reporting of safety, health, quality and environmental observations as well as near misses, good practice and general suggestions etc. It allows designated persons to receive instant notifications of anything raised so that required actions can be taken. Critical data from the app is automatically loaded onto an online database for review.
The app works by operatives initially scanning an area’s QR Code (these are placed in all areas of site), then selecting form the drop-down menu which category they would like to report on. Photos can either be uploaded or taken live as well as narrative inputted via typing or using the voice memo language translator. This addition opens use of the app up to operatives with fewer literacy skills and those for whom English is a second language. This enables everyone on site to have the capability of effectively articulating feed back using their native language.
Once items are submitted, the relevant parties receive an instant email notification. All reports get automatically loaded onto an online database which is displayed in locations around site and welfare so that trades can see what actions have been taken on the items raised.
Since its introduction, there has been an increase in usage of the App and the project has found that workers feel more included and comfortable raising issues and observations. Benefits include:
