Health and Wellbeing – Thirsti Puck

Here at Signature Barnet we have been trailing a new initiative amongst the site team to monitor and increase hydration using the ‘Thirsti Puck’ throughout 2020. The Puck is designed to improve hydration, helps to regulate blood pressure and digestion as well as preventing kidney damage as well as other performance health benefits.

The device works alongside an app that encourages users to monitor their fluid intake and set themselves daily targets using their smartphone. The puck glows inside your water bottle and sends you alerts via email to remind you to drink if you forget and fall behind your daily target. So far the response has been very positive with colleagues noticing and feeling more alert and drinking more regularly.

Health authorities commonly recommend 2 litres or half a gallon of water a day however depending on the individuals daily routine and physical exercise this may increase – Construction can be more physical than other industries so more hydration would be recommended.
