On The Broadway project, we are focusing on the wellbeing of all Multiplex staff and contractors working on our behalf. We have collectively been thinking of new ways to help manage stress and in doing so have took to mindfulness and how it can help in the workplace.

We invited a guest speaker to help us learn meditation techniques as one study found that after eight weeks of mindfulness training, people suffering workplace stress had significantly decreased stress levels and improvement in general health. The same improvements were sustained for four months after the training.

Meditation reverses the impacts of stress on our mind and body. Emotional Regulation Stress can cause us to have less control over our emotions and make it difficult to handle challenging situations. Mindfulness training can help you learn to shift the perception and regulate emotions, specifically reducing negative emotions like anger and frustration. Meditation can also improve happiness and wellbeing by strengthening our ability to cope with stressors in the future.

This has been incorporated in to an app also which everyone has downloaded to their phone so during breaks at work and whilst at home they can continue to focus on mindfulness.
