RealWear Live Stream Camera for Virtual Site Visits

We are now using the RealWear live stream camera system at EARPS. The camera is mounted on a hard hat and allows live streaming of video images being filmed.

The interface through Teams or Vsight is working as a meeting room and comments, pictures and drawings can be shared with the operative wearing the hard hat, who can view this on the non obstructive screen attached to the camera.

The device is hand free and voice controlled by the operative. This allows the operative to completely focus on his/her task while receiving guidance or sharing information.

The system therefore allows external stakeholders to take part in virtual site visits without being exposed to the hazards of a construction site.

Practically at EARPS, the RealWear system has helped with:

  • responding live to designer’s questions/comments and find quick design alternatives
  • guiding french experts on new critical operations
  • share site updates with members of the team still working from home, therefore helping them to keep connected with the team.
  • Allow our second CCS virtual site visit, allowing the monitor to make his own mind about the site and understand the constraints better.
