Redevelopment of a Community Area

Part of the redevelopment of Fosse Park, the Fosse Park Community Area started life as a conceptual idea that an area could be provided for the local community to view the project from a position of safety on a platform overlooking the site.

Since the original concept, this has now developed into a much more practical opportunity to engage the local community and communicate the look and feel of the new scheme.

This includes:

  • A sample/mock up area constructed inside the public area of the site compound to provide the public a feel of the completed scheme. This will also be used for prospective tenants, clients and existing centre staff.
  • Open evenings and afternoons to show the public the community hub, material samples and raise awareness of the work going on under the CSS Ultimate scheme.
  • Viewing windows so that pedestrians can view the project and its progress.
  • Having the hoarding decorated by local school children via the CCS Hoarding Competition.
  • Encouraging local media to raise awareness of the uniqueness of the offer and advertise across Fosse Park in general.
  • Available car parking.

The Community Hub also provides a facility for local community groups to hold group meetings and other gatherings, free of charge.

This includes:

  • Hot and cold running water
  • Coffee and tea making facilities
  • Tables and chairs as required
  • Accessible toilets
