Safety System for Crane Drivers

The site team have installed an innovative safety feature onto their Wolff Luffing Jib Tower Crane. It has been fitted with the latest ‘Articrane i-Raptor Davit Crane Rescue System’ with a body stretcher on the high level driver’s platform.

In the event of an emergency, such as a heart attack, this feature will get a crane driver back to ground. It also has a backup battery, allowing it to remain functional in the event of a power failure.

There are four trained operatives on the site who can operate the system without requiring the assistance of the emergency services. Having trained operatives, alongside this safety system, is vital in ensuring an efficient and timely evacuation.
