Sustainable Water Treatment Method

On this project they have adopted the BSRIA filter method for flushing, allowing a closed loop approach.

This benefits the project and environment through minimal chemicals being discharged to the water network, lesser volume chemicals used to clean the systems, filter can be replaced or cleaned to extend use and water does not leave the system and the same water is left in the system for permanent use once cleaned by filters.

The traditional flushing and cleaning of closed systems are still used by various contractors and projects within the UK. The traditional method can waste around 100 litres of water daily (system size dependant), discharging chemicals alongside the process. Although this is a controlled process it creates huge wastage and increases pollutants discharged compared to the filtered method where water discharge in minimal if not zero.
