Traffic Light Pedestrian Access

Most of the public footpaths across this project had to be closed to facilitate the works. The most popular route across the scheme is a footpath frequently used by dog walkers and ramblers.

The contractor discussed how they could possibly maintain access on this route safely with the local ramblers association, the safety team and traffic management contractor with the key focus of the meeting being keeping people and plant safely apart.

They have provided a dedicated Heras fencing walkway and a set of push button pedestrian traffic light systems and barriers similar to a railway crossing point.

This solution has provided and maintained safe access via this popular footpath and has been well received by the local community
