Currently large numbers of fire marshals receive only presentations which do not require and cannot introduce practice test as evidence to respond in emergencies.
Virtual reality training has been created which enables users to test themselves in a number of scenarios.
VR as technology is available in various industries, however is not widely adopted, due to certifications and lack of understanding of this technology by the potential buyers. This contractor tested this technology with a variety of individuals from trades to the client and from directors, senior managers to fire marshals employed by trade and receive very positive feedback.
This technology is something that most children know how to use it and enjoy, but not as much appreciated by working adults. However once passed stigma of being judged all attendees in the classroom agreed that its opening wider learning opportunities. According to the statistics it has 4 times higher knowledge retention when compared with standard power point presentations.
VR training enables users to complete tests and monitors response timing of the participants, which presents unique opportunity to select best individuals for the task. It also allows to design wider variety of scenarios including learning from the incident investigations.
