Waste Chase

On the 14th September, St George and Multiplex undertook a Waste Chase. Essentially this was to check that the compactors and skips that turned up to site were being loaded correctly and safely as well as responsibly disposing of the waste and in accordance with their licence.

At 1 o’clock a 20 yard wait and load skip arrived from Powerday. It was then loaded by the Powerday operatives. By observing the loading we noticed that the operatives were following all of the correct safety measures and good practice. Actions such as watering down the skip, full correct PPE including masks, not making excessive noise therefore being considerate of the surrounding neighbours and also putting a net over the skip once finished.

Once the skip was loaded two managers from Multiplex and St George followed the skip, in a black cab, to its correct destination as noted on the waste transfer (WTN).

By undertaking this random and unexpected audit we are pleased to state the whole process was well managed by Powerday and in line with relevant waste regulations.
