Roborigger Device for Removal of Temporary Roof

During high-risk activity reviews; the contractor identified and organised for a trial of a piece of equipment called a Roborigger, there are on two available in the UK.

The device sets a load orientation and enables a load to be rotated in a controlled manner whilst suspended for a crane hook. When used here it prevented oversail of their 30m roof trusses reducing risk to the public and surrounding buildings and allowed them to reduce tag line length to just 5m also reducing risk of entanglement with the trees and Albert Memorial located in the square.

Roborigger is a wireless, automated system that uses gyroscopic and inertial forces to safely and precisely control and stabilise crane-lifted loads, eliminating the need for dangerous taglines and personnel to enter the danger zone.

This technological advancement significantly improves worksite safety and productivity by extending the lifting operating window, especially in windy conditions, and by reducing the time needed for each lift by allowing remote control and remote load release. The system also provides valuable, real-time data on lifting operations via IoT connectivity, contributing to smarter, safer worksites.
