Bridge Lift

This contractor upscaled the vessel/barge crane to carry out the lift to eliminate the need for any dredging.

The dredge site would have been at the location where two rivers merge. They looked the the impact both commercially and environmentally on the project and agreed that in order to reduce the impact of the works on the environment any further they would invest in a larger vessel for lifting the bridge which in turn meant a smaller draft.

Initially they looked at the UGLEN for lifting which required a 6m draught, however after discussion with the install team they recommended using the Hebo Lift 10 which due to the capacity of the lift only needed a 3m draught which eliminated the need for dredging

Therefore this saved a 4 week dredge programme, disposal to sea of circa 16,000m3 of material and the fuel usage of approximately 56,000 litres.
