Disability Confident Scheme

The Disability Confident scheme aims to help employers make the most of the opportunities provided by employing disabled people.

The Government is committed to halving the disability employment gap and construction industry employers have a crucial role to play.

The Disability Confident scheme has 3 levels that are designed so that you must complete each level before moving on to the next.

Level 1 – Disability Confident committed employer

To achieve this you need to sign up with your commitment which involves providing your contact details, signing up to the Disability Confident Commitments and identifying at least one thing you can do to make a difference for disabled people.

Level 2 – Disability Confident employer

To achieve this you will need to self-assess your business against a set grouped against the themes of ‘Getting the right people for your business’ and ‘Keeping and developing your people’.

Level 3 – Disability Confident leader

To achieve this you will need to have your self-assessment validated from outside your business and show evidence of what you have done as a Disability Confident leader.
