This project has given work experience and employment opportunities to a large number of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Members of site team have been trained by the Health Trust and are now qualified in OCN Level 2 Mentoring Practice for engagement with young people.
The training provided an understanding of their needs and continues to improve engagement with young people. It has enabled the staff to help encourage and provide opportunities for those new to the industry from diverse/ disadvantaged backgrounds.
A number of contractor’s management will also be trained to OCN Level 2 in advance of placements to prepare them for working with these young people, thus providing them with every opportunity available to succeed.
This work with disadvantaged groups was also recognised with the ASB Project Team winning the Buy Social award in June 2018.
