Multi Platform Community Presentation on Local Heritage

For Heritage Week, a Senior Archaeologist held a public presentation on the ongoing archaeological investigations carried out by the contractor (in association with Cork County Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland) along the route of the new M28 Cork to Ringaskiddy Project.

An overview was given of the stages of work involved in locating and excavating archaeological remains on a road scheme, and also an account of the exciting discoveries made on the scheme so far, ranging from prehistory right up to the 1600s.

Also on the night, there was a photographic exhibition, and a launch of a digital Story Map which allows for the public to engage further with the work that has been done to date.
