The UK construction industry has one of the highest rates of waste, and as a manufacturer of plastic temporary protection materials this contractor is passionate about sustainability and changing the way people think within the industry and the wider economy.
This contractor has invested in a state-of-the-art wash plant and recycling line. This enables them to collect used, contaminated materials back from sites, recycling them back into the raw material they us in their manufacturing process, creating a completely closed loop solution.
By maximising the volume of polypropylene sheeting being recovered, re-processed and remanufactured through their Proplex Closed Loop Remanufacturing Scheme they are helping construction sites to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill and incineration, whilst reducing their need for finite resources.
Delivering such a scheme required them to validate that the recycled ProplexRE they manufacture conforms to flame retardancy standards and certification.
A growing number of their customers have adopted our Proplex ClosedLoop Remanufacturing Scheme and see this as an integral part of achieving their own sustainability targets.
