Relocating Bats

It is essential to consider, throughout any project, the potentially negative impact your activities could be having on the environment.

Respecting, protecting and enhancing our environment, demonstrates consideration to existing and future generations.

It also helps to protect the natural, existing environment.

A number of sites have assisted with the relocation and protection of bat colonies by:

Adapting existing structures, demonstrated by one site who converted an existing World War II pillar-box into a bat roost;
Constructing a temporary bat bridge when trees were removed, to enable bats to relocate;
A bat barn was constructed to house bats that lived on the site, with temporary trees installed at night to help guide the bats around the site.
