Seat Assistance Stand For Reduction In Musculoskeletal Injuries

On this project, the flooring contractor has developed a piece of equipment to assist them with floor preparation when working with timber flooring.

The piece of equipment is used by the contractor to sit on and rest their chest while using the heavy duty sanding machines during preparation phases. This new system of work reduces the risk of musculoskeletal injuries to the back, with the risk of manual handling being lowered in the workplace this ensures a better working environment for all involved.

This piece of equipment has been developed by floor layers, for floor layers. They collectively engaged with a fabricator to capture the design of this equipment to assist them with long periods of floor preparation and to reduce the physical stress they encounter when preparing floors. There is not an off-the-shelf product available that does this and it was built specifically with the end user in mind.
