Sign Asset Monitoring System

A small electronic system is fixed to each sign throughout this project. When a sign goes down or has tipped due to wind an alert with the location of the sign is sent via SMS to a response crew.

The response crew is then able to respond within 20 minutes to address the issue, and a notification is then sent back to the system to close out the issue.

Fallen signage can be commonplace on construction sites, and it’s typically only noticed during physical checks or if they’re noticed by coincidence. This system allows the response crew to be alerted to any fallen sign throughout a large construction site, resulting in signs spending as little time on the floor as possible.

The system also provides significant carbon savings, with an estimated 8,790 fewer site visits, saving 127 tonnes of carbon, £239k in costs, and 50,457 litres of fuel.
