Virtual Site Tour with Matterport Camera

Over the course of 2020 the approach towards community investment and activities has had to change and adapt due to coronavirus pandemic. This has involved embracing technology and engaging schools in a more virtual way.

As part of this approach, SRM hosted two interactive webinars for local school students as part of the City of London Careers Fair – one webinar aimed at primary and the other at secondary students. Each involved an introduction to SRM, the 21 Moorfields project and jobs within the construction industry. We were also able to use our Matterport camera to provide a virtual walk around site, with students asking questions as we moved around the site, as they would do in person. This was also a way of showing the students areas of the site that they may not be able to visit in person.

This was followed by a competition for the students to design new welfare facilities that could be used during the coronavirus pandemic to help ensure social distancing measures are maintained. There were over 60 students from a variety of schools engaged in the event, and we are currently looking through the competition entries to choose a winner.
