Warm Lay Tarmac

This contractor is using warm lay tarmac for the site compound car park, this significantly reduced the carbon for this activity by up to 15% per tonne.

This has numerous benefits including:

  • No requirement for any specialist equipment to lay and no compromise on performance
  • Improved site safety as the risks of burns are lessened
  • Improved air quality and visibility onsite as less fumes and steam are created onsite.
  • Enhanced Life-expectancy and durability as the lower temperatures and decreased oxidation reduces binder aging during manufacture.
  • Lower temperatures reduce cooling time
