On The Broadway project, the trained Mental Health First Aiders wanted to make it possible for themselves to be available for anyone to come and talk to via a general chit-chat. The talks help put names to faces regarding who the Mental Health First Aiders are, and also enables the Mental Health First Aiders to signpost anyone who requires support.

The talks have been structured in such a way to ensure that there is no clear agenda, and they operate on a “walk in walk out” service. Operatives on the project like attending as it helps them to make a friend, especially when they do not have English as a first language and are working away from home.

The ‘Talk to Us’ service also gives us a way to let operatives know of any new campaigns and talks from guest speakers we have coming up regarding staff wellness on The Broadway project.

The talk to us group is weekly and so far has had a great amount of feedback on our project.
