Harness On System

Harness ON is an intelligent fall protection system. The Harness ON intelligent anchor point is connected to an approved platform anchor point using a shackle. This prevents the operation of the Mobile Elevated Working Platform (MEWP) until a harness is connected. This confirms that the operator is connected to an approved anchor point when the MEWP is being operated.

IPAFs most recent data of lost time incidents shows that falls from height has the greatest number of fatalities in the industry. When assessed more closely by individual incident for the possible cause of the fall from height 55% of the incidents are due to the operator not wearing a harness.

This equipment ensures the operator is fixed securely to the MEWP basket and acts as an immobiliser if not connected. i.e. the MEWP cannot operate without the lanyard hook being attached.
