Pre Serviced Walls

On this project they are using pre serviced walls across several of the floors. These are walls made of chipboard that are manufactured off site and have hockey sticks and sockets fixed into them. The walls fit into a wooden track that has been fixed into the floor and ceiling.

The walls are self-supporting, meaning that when the track has been fixed to the concrete slab and soffit, the preserviced wall simply slides in. No studwork or additional plasterboard is required. Once the walls have been built, they are tape and jointed over the joins and can then be skimmed with plaster.

The main advantage of this system is the time saved. Due to the simple nature of the system a floor can be installed quicker than traditional plasterboard.
Another advantage is that more work can be done off site, meaning a better quality, finish and tighter tolerances than if traditional plasterboard were to be used.

Less works on site and the simplicity of install means the work is safer for operatives on site. The panels are made of timber and there is no need for any metal to be used in the system.
