Incorporating Health and Physical Activity into the Working Day

Connect Plus Services believes that talking is only the start of the journey in the removal of stigma around mental health in society at large.

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, Connect Plus Services dedicated a week to generating discussion about mental health as well as raising awareness of the importance of incorporating health and physical activity in and around the working day.

A range of events was offered including:

  • Talks about relationships in the workplace, being respectful and fair to one another, and knowing how to deal with confrontational relations;
  • We shared employees’ stories on their individual experiences of dealing with the depression of family members;
  • Free health checks and personal MOT’s provided by NHS Kent Community Health in our depots;
  • Free fresh fruit delivery;
  • Quit Kit full of useful information, helpful tips and practical tools, helping staff to become smokefree;
  • 5-a-side teams competing in the CPS Cup Final;
  • The installation of computer apps reminding staff to stretch or take a break throughout the day.
