Weekly Step Challenge

After a team member was highlighted to a health issue from the use of a smart watch heart and step monitor, the team at Murray Park decided to introduce a site campaign for the workforce to monitor their activity with the use of a step monitor.

All the site team bought a smart watch and we had step monitors available to all subcontractors on the project that we encouraged to take part. The challenge was set to see who could walk from our site project in Derby to Venice first by completing three million steps.

Each week everybody’s steps are recorded and our pictures are moved along the board to show progress with a league table introduced to encourage the team to increase their daily steps.

This scheme has resulted in all the team being more aware of how many steps they are taking and encouraged all involved to increase their daily activities.

We have also had a team member buy a dog and two members agree to complete a 10k run to help them get to the top of the leader board!
