Earth Day

Earth Day focuses on the human impact on Earth as a whole.

This day aims to broaden and diversify the environmental movement worldwide and to mobilise it as the most effective vehicle to build a healthy, sustainable environment, address climate change, and protect the Earth for future generations.

To support Earth Day on your site, you could do the following:

  • Be aware and considerate of natural wildlife living on or around your site;
  • Plant trees to counteract any carbon emissions that may be expelled by the site;
  • Hire a suitably qualified practitioner to relocate any wildlife;
  • Use the Scheme’s environmental checklist (see downloadable document below), to make sure that all aspects of the environment are considered before and during work commencing on site. This template checklist will help sites to understand their local surroundings and gain further ideas for world environment day.

Earth Day runs on 22nd April every year, to find out more about this event click the link below.
