Rebar Tying Robot

The traditional process for rebar tying is done manually using annealed steel wire, either from bulk rolls or precut pieces with loops. Common methods include the Snap Tie and Wrap and Snap Tie which involve using pliers to pull, wrap, twist and cut the wire to secure the rebars.

Tying rebars by hand increases the risk of several health-related injuries including high rates of developing a hand-wrist disorder such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome through repetitive movements, risk of lower back injuries and musculoskeletal disorders from frequent and prolonged stopping and bending and a higher risk of falls due to the hazardous environment.

This contractor has implemented TyBOT a rebar tying robot that takes care of the repetitive, backbreaking task of tying rebar. The robot is snsite and working within 2 hours upon product arrival and streamlines and safely accelerates horizontal rebar installation by autonomously tying rebar intersections with 99% accuracy.
