Using Technology to Encourage Workforce Feedback

Operatives should be provided with a platform to voice their opinions and concerns.

This ensures your employees feel valued, which is crucial to effectively establish and maintain a happy and well motivated workforce.

Below is an example of how sites have encouraged feedback from their workforce:

  • A system operated via an iPad was developed, the iPad was placed in reception, where all personnel could enter good or bad practices of safety and behaviour on site;
  • This is for the use of all personnel both employed, self employed and trade contractors;
  • They could enter observations anonymously, which were recorded and uploaded weekly by the Health and Safety manager with information displayed on a notice board in reception.

This example not only provides employees with a voice, but it also enables good and bad practices to be identified, allowing sites to identify areas that need improvement, to continually strive to achieve best practice.
