Buildots – 4D Modelling Engine

Buildots is an AI solution mounted to a safety helmet which uses a 360 degree camera to 3D scan working areas scanned during a general walkaround, the footage is then uploaded onto the system which uses AI to compare scanned image with BIM model (architectural model, fire stopping and M and E).

The system is then able to generate a progress line, compare it against the programme and find (and highlight) discrepancies between on site installation and design.

This is useful for general day to day running of the site and defect avoidance and progress reporting. As the system updates the progress, it takes guesswork away from how much work has been completed. Through the walkaround function (similar to google street view) they are able to go back in time and check each area of work that has been covered and for QA, mainly around fire stopping as they will be able to go to each location even after the site has been completed.
