Practical Plumbing session for Year 11 students

While building Goffs school, Interserve’s Hannah Fehr offered practical support to students and was asked to plan some practical sessions to a group of students who were underachieving and closest to the workforce.

Students were given the opportunity to learn practical skills during a 3 hour workshop on Plumbing, in partnership with Interserve Engineering Services and JTL Training.

Students were given a safety talk prior to being shown how to create a working system.

Feedback from students and staff was very positive, students felt they had a better understanding of the industry and had not realised how much Mathematics and English was used.

Staff advised following on from the workshop that students were more motivated to work.
