Conversation Cards

This contractor carried out a presentation onsite to raise awareness of suicide and the impacts it has, especially in the construction industry. On the back of this, to try to get workers to open up and generate conversations, the site have issued a selection of conversation cards which have been spread throughout the canteen.

The cards have small questions that make the individual think and hopefully generate more conversations which can lead to people then feeling more comfortable with each other and opening up further. A small question can lead to much more important discussions and encourage operatives on site to open up more.

When individuals first come to site and are working with different people it can be hard to strike up conversations, and people can be isolated and feel they have no one to talk with, they have found the conversation cards have helped break down this barrier and operatives are now talking more freely amongst themselves which can help with their mental health and wellbeing.

This simple concept is easily replicated at virtually no cost but can have a huge impact on those working on sites to help change the conversation and make it more diverse allowing people to feel more comfortable with each other.
